Global Wales Discover

Cardiff Met is proud to be a part of an exciting new programme - Global Wales Discover.  ​

Global Wales Discover is a British Council run programme funded by the Welsh Government and Global Wales, which provides funding for Welsh Universities to deliver short-term mobility opportunities for Welsh undergraduate students to work, study or volunteer in another country. 

Welsh students can spend between two and eight weeks studying, working or volunteering in one of the following countries: 

Countries

EU Member States: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Malta, Romania.

USA, Canada, Japan, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, India, China and Vietnam.

Funding

Funding is available to support students' living costs and travel. 

Who can take part?

Global Wales Discover is open to Welsh undergraduate students who are studying at Cardiff Met.

To be eligible for funding, Welsh undergraduates must:

  • be a UK national or have 'settled status' 
  • have been Welsh-domiciled for three years or more prior to the first day of the first academic year of the course
  • have been living in the UK for three years before starting the course.

 

Global Wales Discover is a valuable opportunity to spend a short time abroad, building skills and confidence, enhancing employability and developing cultural awareness.
