Ar hyn o bryd, mae Dr Rehmat yn gweithio fel Darlithydd (Athro Cynorthwyol) yn ysgol dechnolegau Caerdydd, Prifysgol Metropolitan Caerdydd, y DU. Enillodd ei raddau B.S. ac M.S. mewn cyfrifiadureg o brifysgol COMSATS Islamabad, Pacistan, a'i radd Ph.D. mewn electroneg a pheirianneg gyfrifiadurol o Brifysgol Hongik, De Korea. Ar ôl cael gradd PhD bu'n gweithio fel Athro Cynorthwyol ym Mhrifysgol Gachon, De Korea. Yna symudodd i'r DU, lle cafodd ei brofiad ôl-ddoethurol ym Mhrifysgol St Andrews, yr Alban, y DU a Phrifysgol Queen's, Belfast, Gogledd Iwerddon, y DU. Yn ystod y cyfnod hwn, bu'n gweithio ar brosiectau amrywiol ym maes Edge Computing, Edge Intelligence/Edge AI, Internet of Things a 5G gyda gwahanol ddiwydiannau megis Ericsson Hungary a Rakuten Mobile Japan.

Mae ei waith wedi ymddangos mewn mwy na 45 o bapurau ymchwil mewn cynadleddau a adolygir gan gymheiriaid a chylchgronau gorau megis IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Internet of Things journal, IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering, IEEE Wireless Communications Magazine, Journal of Network and Computer Applications, a Future Generation Computer Systems. Ar hyn o bryd mae'n dal pedwar patent, ac mae ei ddau batent yn yr Unol Daleithiau yn cael eu hadolygu.

O ran gwasanaeth proffesiynol, mae Dr Rehmat wedi gwasanaethu fel aelod o bwyllgor y rhaglen dechnegol, fel prif siaradwr ac fel cadeirydd sesiwn ar gyfer sawl cynhadledd flaenllaw megis ACM ICN, ACM IMC, ac fel adolygydd gwadd ar gyfer nifer o gyfnodolion effaith uchel. Yn 2022, adnabyddwyd Dr Rehmat fel Global Talent gan yr Academi Beirianneg Frenhinol, y DU. Mae mwy o wybodaeth ar gael o'i wefan bersonol yn www.rehmatkhan.com

Addysgu.

Mae ei weithgareddau ymchwil ac addysgu wedi canolbwyntio'n bennaf ar systemau rhwydwaith a gwasgaredig, yn enwedig cyfrifiadura ymyl/niwl, rhwydweithio gwybodaeth ganolog ac esblygiad 5G a thu hwnt gyda ffocws diweddar ar ddysgu peirianyddol gwasgaredig fel dysgu ffederal ar gyfer systemau cyfrifiadura ymyl.

Ym Mhrifysgol St Andrews, y DU a Phrifysgol Queen's, Belfast, cyfrannodd yn frwd at oruchwyliaeth nifer o fyfyrwyr PhD a MEng. Yn Ysgol Dechnolegau Caerdydd, mae'n goruchwylio chwe myfyriwr israddedig ar hyn o bryd.

Ymchwil

Mae ymchwil Dr Rehmat yn canolbwyntio ar feysydd ehangach y rhwydwaith a systemau gwasgaredig yn enwedig datblygu pensaernïaeth, algorithmau, a phrotocolau ar gyfer paradigmau sy'n dod i'r amlwg, megis cyfrifiadura ymyl, deallusrwydd ymyl/edge AI, rhwydweithio gwybodaeth ganolog, ac esblygiad 5G a thu hwnt gyda ffocws diweddar ar ddysgu ffederal ar gyfer systemau cyfrifiadura ymyl. Mae hyn yn cynnwys y dyluniad, astudiaethau mesur, prototeipio, datblygu testbed, a gwerthusiadau perfformiad.
