Ar hyn o bryd mae Dr Arslan Ahmad yn gweithio fel Uwch Ddarlithydd yn yr Ysgol Dechnolegau, Prifysgol Metropolitan Caerdydd. Mae ganddo brofiad Ymchwil a Datblygu diwydiannol mewn rhwydweithiau 5G.

Derbyniodd ei radd PhD mewn Electroneg a Pheirianneg Gyfrifiadurol gan yr Adran Peirianneg Drydanol ac Electroneg, Prifysgol Cagliari, yr Eidal yn 2019. Mae wedi gweithio fel Cymrawd Marie Curie (2015-2018) yn MSCA ITN QoE-Net. Mae wedi gwasanaethu fel ymchwilydd Ôl-ddoethurol ym Mhrifysgol Cagliari rhwng 2018 a 2019. Mae ganddo nifer o gyhoeddiadau mewn cynadleddau a chyfnodolion rhyngwladol a adolygir gan gymheiriaid, y dyfarnwyd y wobr bapur Orau i ddau ohonynt yn IFIP / IEEE IM 2017 a Phwyllgor Technegol Amlgyfrwng IEEE. Bu'n adolygydd IEEE Transaction ar Amlgyfrwng, Offer a Chymhwysiad Amlgyfrwng Springer, a Elsevier Image Communication. Bu'n Gadeirydd Gwe'r 10fed Gynhadledd Ryngwladol ar Ansawdd Profiad Amlgyfrwng (QoMEX 2018) ac aelod o Bwyllgor Rhaglen Dechnegol IEEE ICC ac IEEE WCNC.

Mae ei ddiddordebau ymchwil yn cynnwys cyfathrebu amlgyfrwng, Rhwydweithio Diffiniedig Meddalwedd (SDN), Rhithwiroli Swyddogaeth Rhwydwaith (RhSRh), dysgu peiriannau, gwasanaeth yn seiliedig ar Ansawdd Profiad (AP) a monitro a rheoli rhwydwaith. Prif ffocws ei ymchwil yw monitro a rheoli AP ar wasanaethau amlgyfrwng Over-The-Top (OTTs) a chydweithrediad OTT-ISP ar gyfer rheoli gwasanaeth amlgyfrwng ar y cyd.
