Ymchwil

Yn gyffredinol, mae fy niddordebau ymchwil yn canolbwyntio ar y mecanweithiau moleciwlaidd sy'n gysylltiedig â llid systemig cronig ac atherosglerosis wedi'i gyflymu sy'n gysylltiedig â diabetes math 2 a gordewdra. Yn benodol, mae gen i ddiddordeb yn rôl hyperglycemia a chynhyrchion terfynol glyciedig datblygedig (AGEs), a'u derbynnydd priodol (AGER), yn natblygiad briwiau atherosglerotig. Mae gen i ddiddordeb hefyd yn y ffordd y gall ligandau gama PPAR (synthetig a naturiol) ac ymarfer corff a diet fodiwleiddio rhaeadrau signalau mewngellol, newid mynegiant genynnau ac yn y pen draw ymyrryd â'r llwybrau atherosglerotig ac ymfflamychol sy'n ganolog i'r cymhlethdodau patholegol yn gysylltiedig â diabetes math 2. Amcan cyffredinol yr ymchwil hon yw egluro'r effeithiau moleciwlaidd buddiol y gall ymyrraeth cyffuriau, newid diet a mwy o weithgaredd corfforol eu cael ar wrthwynebiad inswlin ac atherosglerosis sy'n gysylltiedig â diabetes. Rhagwelais y bydd y wybodaeth a gafwyd yn ystod yr ymchwil hon yn y pen draw yn cael ei haddasu i greu cynlluniau ataliol, triniaeth a rheoli mwy effeithiol ar gyfer gordewdra a diabetes.
