Bywgraffiad

Mae Gareth Barham yn brif ddarlithydd yn Ysgol Gelf a Dylunio Caerdydd ym Mhrifysgol Metropolitan Caerdydd. Gyda gradd israddedig mewn Dylunio Cynnyrch a gradd meistr mewn Marchnata Strategol, mae'n dysgu datblygu cynnyrch a arweinir gan y farchnad a Dylunio ar gyfer Gweithgynhyrchu a Chydosod ar y cyrsiau BA, BSc AC MSc Dylunio Cynnyrch a Theori Diwylliant Defnyddwyr i grwpiau astudio theori i fyfyrwyr ar draws ystod o ddisbyblaethau celf a dylunio.

Mae ymchwil Gareth mewn Theori Diwylliant Defnyddwyr yn archwilio sut i gyflwyno’r cysyniad o brynwriaeth foesegol i gynulleidfaoedd ehangach a chyflwynodd Partneriaeth Trosglwyddo Gwybodaeth ddiweddar gysyniadau DFMA a marchnata digidol i BBaCh lleol.

Mae Gareth yn arwain materion sy'n ymwneud â phontio myfyrwyr i addysg uwc yn yr ysgol. Dechreuodd ei brofiad ym 1993 fel dylunydd cynnyrch ar gyfer ymgynghoriaeth The Product Group ac yna fel Rheolwr Datblygu Cynnyrch yn Glasdon UK Ltd lle cynhaliodd ymchwil marchnad i nodi syniadau am gynnyrch newydd a rheoli'r broses o ddylunio cynnyrch.

Ymunodd Gareth â Phrifysgol Metropolitan Caerdydd ym 1999 ac mae ei arbenigeddau yn cynnwys Marchnata Strategol, Strategaethau Dylunio Brand a Dylunio ar gyfer Gweithgynhyrchu a Chydosod. Mae'n gweithio'n agos gyda diwydiant i gyflwyno prosesau dylunio cynnyrch trwy Bartneriaethau SMART a ariennir gan Lywodraeth Cymru a Phartneriaethau Trosglwyddo Gwybodaeth Innovate UK. Enillodd dyluniad diweddar o Gareth’s, taenwr hufen haul i blant y categori Cynnyrch Newydd Gorau yn y Gwobrau Busnes ac Addysg ym mis Tachwedd 2016 ac yn 2020 enillodd dair gwobr am gynnyrch dodrefn gardd yn GLEE, y sioe fasnach garddio a byw yn yr awyr agored. Mae Gareth wedi dylunio a chyflwyno gweithdai Dylunio Brandiau a Marchnata Strategol masnachol ar gyfer y diwydiant dylunio. Mae hefyd yn rheoli prosiectau cydweithredol ar gyfer myfyrwyr gyda diwydiant.

Mae Gareth yn Uwch Gymrawd yr Academi Addysg Uwch. Mae’n Brif Ddarlithydd mewn Dylunio Cynnyrch ac yn dysgu Theori Diwylliant Defnyddwyr trwy lens gwrth-brynwriaeth i fyfyrwyr ar draws Ysgol Gelf a Dylunio Caerdydd. Mae wedi bod yn ddarlithydd gwadd yn Sefydliad Celf a Dylunio Samsung, Prifysgol Corea, a Phrifysgol Dong-A yn Ne Korea a hefyd yn Sefydliad Celf Malaysia yn Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Mae wedi bod yn arholwr allanol ar gyfer y cyrsiau BSc Dylunio a Thechnoleg Cynnyrch a BSc Dylunio Cynnyrch a Pheirianneg ym Mhrifysgol Metropolitan Manceinion yn ogystal â’r cyrsiau BSc Dylunio Cynnyrch ym Mhrifysgol Gorllewin Lloegr, Bryste.

Mae Gareth yn Rhiant-Lywodraethwr yn Ysgol Glantaf ac yn feiciwr modur brwd ac yn meddu ar gymhwyster uwch gyda Sefydliad y Modurwyr Uwch.
