Mae llawer o fy ymchwil yn cael ei yrru gan ddiddordeb mewn trosiad neu sut y gall un peth olygu rhywbeth arall, e.e. 'architecture is frozen music' (Schelling), ‘the insect voice of the clock’ (Orwell). Y tu ôl i hyn mae diddordeb mewn sut mae pethau'n cael eu casglu neu eu dosbarthu fel un math o beth, a chanlyniadau'r adrannu hwn ar wybodaeth a meddwl. Rwy'n dilyn llinell ymholi sy'n lleoli trosiad o fewn bod ymgorfforedig, amgylcheddol ac yn gofyn beth yw ymwneud â'r fath fod sy'n ysgogi un cysyniad i estyn allan a chysylltu ag un arall.
Ar hyn o bryd rwy'n gweithio ar arwyddocâd ymddangosiad, neu ymddangos i'r synhwyrau, ar gyfer athroniaeth. Nid yw canlyniadau honiadau Berkeley a Kant bod cysyniadau yn gofyn am gynnwys synhwyraidd neu'n eu cynnwys, yn fy nhyb i, wedi'u gwireddu'n llawn eto. Bydd y gwaith hwn ar ffurf cyfres o erthyglau ac yna llyfr.
Rwyf hefyd yn ysgrifennu llyfr ar athroniaeth drama sain, i'w gyhoeddi yn 2023. Mae gan bob ffurf gelfyddydol — dawns, ffilm, llenyddiaeth, cerddoriaeth, theatr a'r celfyddydau gweledol — lyfr athroniaeth, sy’n archwilio'r cwestiynau a'r posibiliadau a godir gan y ffurf. Pob ffurf gelfyddydol, hynny yw, ac eithrio un: drama radio neu ddrama sain.
Bydd fy llyfr yn lleoli natur a chwmpas drama sain o fewn cysyniadau a dadleuon allweddol o ffenomenoleg, estheteg athronyddol, ac athroniaethau technoleg a sain. Bydd hefyd yn cyflwyno drama sain fel ffurf gelfyddydol a all fod yn gelfyddydol ddyfeisgar mewn ffyrdd sydd naill ai'n cyfateb neu'n rhagori ar y deinamiaeth a hawlir am gelfyddydau eraill.
