Anna is a Principal Lecturer in Student Engagement at the Cardiff School of Sport and Health Sciences. Prior to this Anna was  the Programme Director for the BSc (Hons) Sport and Physical Education (SPE) Programme (2014-2017). After a period as a PE teacher at Ysgol Bro Morgannwg, Barry, Anna joined the University as a full time member of staff in 2011. She has since made a significant contribution to the development of the SPE Programme and more recently student engagement across the school.

Anna has an emerging research profile based around physical literacy and physical education, she has developed links with the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol and Sport Wales. She has made a valuable contribution to the 'Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol' activities in particular the supervision of a PhD through the medium of Welsh.

My research interests focus on the development of high quality physical education (PE), physical literacy and young people's engagement in sport and physical activity. These interests include, developing young people on their physical literacy journey and creating an empowering PE environment. I am also particularly interested in teaching and learning in higher education.
