Mae Marianne yn Ddarllenydd mewn Biomecaneg Chwaraeon ac Ymarfer Corff ac yn gymrawd o'r Academi Addysg Uwch. Ers ymuno â'r Ysgol yn 2004, mae Marianne wedi cael nifer o rolau ysgol gan gynnwys Cyfarwyddwr Rhaglen yr MSc mewn Gwyddorau Chwaraeon ac Ymarfer Corff. Mae hi'n aelod gweithgar o'r timau hunanasesu Athena-SWAN ysgol a sefydliadol. Mae hi'n ymchwilydd o fri rhyngwladol ym maes biomecaneg chwaraeon ac ymarfer corff a dychwelwyd hi yng nghyflwyniadau llwyddiannus RAE (2008) a REF (2014). Mae hi wedi derbyn gwobrau ymchwil cenedlaethol a rhyngwladol yn ystod ei  gyrfa cynnar ac yn parhau i gyfrannu at ddatblygu ymchwil biomecaneg chwaraeon ac ymarfer corff o ansawdd uchel trwy ei goruchwyliaethau PhD, aelodaeth ar bwyllgorau cymdeithas, cyhoeddiadau a adolygir gan gymheiriaid a chyfraniadau siarad gwahoddedig.   

 

Ymchwil / Cyhoeddiadau

Pwrpas cyffredinol fy ymchwil yw ehangu gwybodaeth am y gofynion mecanyddol ar ran isaf y coesau a achosir mewn chwaraeon ac effeithiau ymarfer corff deinamig a allai fod yn niweidiol gan ddefnyddio dulliau biomecanyddol datblygedig. Roedd fy ymchwil gynnar yn canolbwyntio ar ddatblygu a chymhwyso modelau cyfrifiadurol arloesol o'r corff dynol. Yn fwy diweddar, defnyddiwyd y ddealltwriaeth ddamcaniaethol o fy ymchwil modelu efelychiad i fynd i'r afael â safbwyntiau cymhwysol mewn gymnasteg a rhedeg, ac i archwilio mecanweithiau straen ar gyfer darogan anafiadau.
