Two Year Masters Courses with Work Placements

Cardiff Met has a number of two year masters programmes, designed to suit the needs of international students that are looking to enhance their knowledge, experience and CV by spending one year in industry alongside their study. The following programmes allow students to apply for a two year course, and obtain a work experience placement in their second year:

There is no work experience required to obtain an offer for a two year programme, and students will be issued with a two year visa.

*Students that select these two year programmes with work experience will pay the same tuition fee as the one year programme, with a Work Placement fee of £1800 in their second year.

**For these programmes, a Work Placement fee of £1800 is payable in in the second year, and the following pre-requisites for progression to the work placement are in place:

  • 60% average in first year taught modules
  • 80% attendance in first year taught modules
  • Student must secure their own placement (with the support of our Work Placements Team)
  • Student must obtain a data gathering agreement from the Employer

If the student does not meet the above conditions, we would look to offer an extended research project within the university as alternative. If this is not feasible, the student’s visa would be curtailed and they would conclude the programme within 15 months (the same timescale as a standard one year MBA/MSc programme).

The student must sign a Work Placement Agreement acknowledging these pre-requisites in order to accept their offer.
