Important Information

Some important information has been provided below to guide you through the process of coming to the UK to ensure your journey, from application to arrival, is as smooth as possible.

Health Insurance

When arranging your visit to Cardiff it is very important that you arrange health insurance for the duration of your stay.

Due to the duration of the International Short Courses which is less than six months, you are only entitled to free National Health Service assistance for accidents and emergencies. You will have to pay for any other medical treatment as a private patient. Please be aware that private medical treatment is very expensive if you do not have adequate insurance coverage. Therefore please ensure that you have adequate travel and health insurance whilst in the UK and on the International Summer School.

Short Term Study Visa

If you are not an EU/EEA/Swiss Citizen, you will need to obtain a short term study visa to be able to study in the UK. Before being able to apply for your visa you will need to have received your Cardiff Met offer letter and paid the International Short Courses fee in full.   A visa support letter will be issued upon receipt of full payment, where projected number of student applications indicate that the programme will be running.

Please contact our immigration compliance team for any related queries: intshortcourse@cardiffmet.ac.uk

If for any reason you are unable to obtain your short term study visa due to a visa refusal please refer to the refund policy guidance.

Enrolment

In order to enrol you will be asked to attend a face-to-face enrolment session on the first day of the International Short Courses programme and will need to bring the following documents with you:

Current valid passport (containing your entry clearance vignette for your short-term study visa)
