Course length:

15 weeks (typically Thursday 5-8pm)

Entry requirements:

Minimum level 3 qualification in biology, sports science or personal training.

Course content:

The course aims to develop knowledge and skills regarding fundamentals of human nutrition, as applied to the collection and interpretation of nutrition data to improve health and physical performance in sport and exercise.

The course is certified by the Association for Nutrition professional body (reference AFCCC65). More information can be found here; www.associationfornutrition.org

Teaching is blended between online content and face-to-face workshops. There is a strong emphasis on applying theory to case studies with lots of discussion. The course also includes hands-on kitchen sessions and an introduction to anthropometrics and exercise physiology in our specialist facilities. You'll be taught by a range of sport and nutrition practitioners including those currently working with elite athletes.

Academic credit:

20 credits at Level 4

Level:

This course is at level 4, the equivalent of the first year of a BSc degree.

To be a Registered Sports and Exercise Nutritionist, you need to undertake training at level 7, therefore undertaking this course will not qualify you to be a Sports Nutritionist.
