Mae’r Athro Beauchamp yn Ddeon Cysylltiol (Ymchwil) i’r Ysgol Addysg a Pholisi Cymdeithasol ac yn Athro Addysg. Ar ôl sawl blwyddyn yn gweithio fel athro ysgol gynradd, symudodd yr Athro Beauchamp i addysg uwch fel darlithydd ym Mhrifysgol Abertawe. Daeth yn Gyfarwyddwr Rhaglen y cwrs TAR cynradd yn ogystal â darlithio ym meysydd gwyddoniaeth gynradd, cerddoriaeth ac addysg ac astudiaethau proffesiynol. Bu hefyd yn dysgu ar ystod o fodiwlau MA ac yn goruchwylio myfyrwyr ymchwil. Symudodd i ymgymryd â dyletswyddau tebyg gydag Ysgol Addysg Abertawe cyn dod yn Gyfarwyddwr Rhaglen y radd BA (Anrhydedd) Astudiaethau Addysgol ym Mhrifysgol Metropolitan Caerdydd yn 2007. Cafodd ei benodi yn Gyfarwyddwr Ymchwil yn 2009.
Mae ffocws ymchwil yr Athro Beauchamp ar TGCh yn addysg, yn enwedig y defnydd o dechnolegau rhyngweithio wrth ddysgu ac addysgu. Ar hyn o bryd, mae’n goruchwylio myfyrwyr PhD sy’n edrych ar TGCh yn Addysg ac addysg gerddoriaeth. Mae’r Athro Beauchamp hefyd wedi cyhoeddi gwaith ar TGCh ac addysg ryngweithiol, addysg gynradd, addysg cerddoriaeth (y maes yr enillodd ei ddoethuriaeth ynddo yn 1996) ac addysg gwyddoniaeth yn y sector cynradd.
Mae ef wedi cyfranogi mewn llawer o brosiectau ymchwil a ariannwyd, gan gynnwys prosiectau Ewropeaidd.  Mae hyn yn cynnwys tri phrosiect Erasmus+:
• Interactive Technologies in Language Teaching (iTILT), gyda phartneriaid yng Ngwlad Belg, yr Iseldiroedd, Ffrainc, Sbaen, yr Almaen a Thwrci, gan archwilio’r defnydd o fyrddau gwyn rhyngweithiol wrth ddysgu ail iaith (gweler prosiect iTIlT).
• Interactive Technologies in Language Teaching (iTILT), gyda phartneriaid yng Ngwlad Belg, yr Iseldiroedd, Ffrainc, Sbaen, yr Almaen a Thwrci, gan archwilio’r defnydd o fyrddau gwyn rhyngweithiol wrth ddysgu ail iaith (gweler prosiect iTILT2 ). Arweiniodd yr Athro Beauchamp y prosiect hwn.
•  Mae Future Teaching (FUTE), gyda phartneriaid yn Nenmarc, Ffindir a Gwlad Belg, yn anelu at ddefnyddio dulliau dylunio i wella ansawdd yr addysg a ddarperir gan athrawon (gweler prosiect FUTE ).

Yn ogystal â’r uchod, mae’r Athro Beauchamp wedi bod yn Arolygydd Ychwanegol gydag Estyn (cwblhaodd secondiad o chwe mis yno) ac mae wedi arolygu ystod o ddarparwyr addysgol. Mae hefyd yn Gadeirydd Llywodraethwyr ysgol gynradd Mount Stuart ac mae wedi gwasanaethu fel arholwr allanol i naw prifysgol.
