Bywgraffiad 

Ganwyd André Stitt yn Belfast, Gogledd Iwerddon ym 1958. Astudiodd yng Ngholeg Polytechnig Ulster a Choleg Celf a Dylunio Belffast, Prifysgol Ulster 1976-1980. O 1980-1999 bu'n byw ac yn gweithio yn Llundain yn gynyddol yn teithio ac yn gwneud gwaith yn rhyngwladol trwy gydol yr wythdegau. Yn 1999 symudodd i Gymru i gymryd ei swydd fel Arweinydd Pwnc ac Uwch ddarlithydd Celf Seiliedig ar Amser yn Ysgol Celf a Dylunio Caerdydd, Prifysgol Fetropolitan Caerdydd (UWIC). Ar hyn o bryd mae'n Athro Perfformio a Chelf Ryngddisgyblaethol yn Ysgol Celf a Dylunio Caerdydd, Prifysgol Fetropolitan Caerdydd, cadeirydd CFAR [y Ganolfan Ymchwil Celf Gain], cymrawd o'r Gymdeithas Gelf Frenhinol a'r Academi Addysg Uwch. 

Gan weithio bron yn gyfan gwbl fel artist perfformio a rhyngddisgyblaethol rhwng 1976-2008 enillodd Stitt enw da yn rhyngwladol am waith blaengar, pryfoclyd a heriol yn wleidyddol. Thema amlycaf yn ei allbwn artistig yw cymunedau a'u diddymiad yn aml yn ymwneud â thrawma, gwrthdaro a chelf fel cynnig adbrynu. Mae ei weithiau perfformio a gosod 'byw' wedi'u cyflwyno mewn amgueddfeydd, orielau a safleoedd mawr ledled y byd.

Mae gan Stitt hefyd hanes hir o drefnu prosiectau a chydweithrediadau a gychwynnwyd gan artistiaid; curadu arddangosfeydd, a chynhyrchu gwyliau a chyfnewidfeydd celf perfformio rhyngwladol ar raddfa fawr. Yn 2000 agorodd y canlynol: Installaction Artspace yng Nghaerdydd, ac yn ddiweddarach Trace Collective (er 2008), gan gychwyn rhaglen gadarn o waith rhyngwladol wedi'i seilio ar amser. 

Ymchwil gyfredol 

Ar hyn o bryd yn archwilio'r perthnasoedd hanesyddol, damcaniaethol ac ymarferol rhwng paentio, perfformio a chelf gosod. Mae ymchwiliad paentio dan arweiniad ymarfer yn archwilio ac yn ceisio ymchwilio i ofod cyfyngu a allai gael ei ddiffinio fel tyniad amwys a'i berthynas ag amgylcheddau adeiledig - go iawn a rhithwir. Mae hyn hefyd yn ystyried yr amgylchedd gweithio [stiwdio] fel gofod perfformio. Fel arweinydd y grŵp ymchwil Perfformio Paentio yn CSAD mae diddordebau allweddol yn cynnwys: 
· Safbwyntiau hanesyddol a chyfoes ar y berthynas rhwng paentio, celf perfformio a chelf gosod. 
· Olion amgylcheddol, gweddillion a dogfennau tystiolaethol o'r profiad perfformiadol. 
· Stiwdio artistiaid a'r weithred berfformiadol o baentio mewn amgylchedd stiwdio-benodol. 
· Amser a gofod: gwneud penderfyniadau yn ystod eiliadau o wneud a gwneud yn amgylchedd y stiwdio. 
· Deunyddiau ac offer: addasu, darganfod, personoli, dylunio yn / ar gyfer amgylchedd y stiwdio.
